Revealed: Who are the impact players nominated by DC and LSG in match 4 of IPL 2025

Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are locking horns with each other in their Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) opener on Monday, March 24.

The fourth match of the Indian Premier League 2025 between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants is being held at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.

Delhi Capitals are being led by a new captain in star all-rounder Axar while the Lucknow Super Giants are being captained by the ex-DC skipper Rishabh Pant, who is the most expensive player in the history of the league.

Both the teams are entering the match with player unavailability concerns as DC's Harry Brook has pulled out of the tournament while LSG's Indian pace-bowling bowling unit is down with injury.

Talking about the head-to-head record, Lucknow Super Kings have won three matches against Delhi Capitals while the latter have won two - both of which came in the last season.

Both teams didn't have a good outing in the previous season and they failed to make the playoffs. This time, they would be hoping for a better outing, but the job will be even tougher for LSG, who look like one of the weakest teams on paper with all the injury issues.

IPL 2025: DC win the toss and opt to bowl first

After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Delhi Capitals skipper Axar Patel said that they made the decision due to the dew factor in the second innings. He also confirmed Faf du Plessis, Trishan Stubbs, Jake Fraser-McGurk, and Mitchell Starc as four overseas players in the playing XI.

"We are going to bowl first. It's the dew factor, we don't want to take any risk, that's why we are bowling first. I have played with Pant before, he knows me and I know him. We know our tricks," he said.

"I have played a lot for the Capitals, we have a well balanced side. There's dew sometimes, not always. I have been with DC since three years, I have been with the leadership group. I need to work accordingly. Need to think like a leader. Faf du Plessis, Stubbs, Starc and Fraser McGurk are our four overseas."

Meanwhile, the Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant said that they also wanted to bowl first. He said:

"I wanted to bowl first but It's a good wicket so we can bat well and put up a good score. I have played for DC all my life, so a lot of emotions there. Preparations have been well, everyone is in the right shape and in the right frame of mind. Markram, Marsh, Pooran and Miller are our four overseas players."
