In the 40th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and the Delhi Capitals (DC) are clashing with each other at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
The list of Impact Players nominated by Rishabh Pant-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and the Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals (DC) for the match on Tuesday, April 22, has officially been revealed.

When these two teams met last time in the IPL 2025 in Vizag, they produced a nail-biting match with DC getting over the line with one wicket and three balls to spare as Ashutosh Sharma played a knock for the ages.
The win of DC over LSG was part of their four consecutive wins on the trot in the competition. However, they have blown hot and cold in the last few games as they lost to Mumbai Indians, before winning in a super over against Rajasthan Royals, and again losing against Gujarat Titans.
The biggest concern for DC have been the performance of the top-order as they have already used four different opening pairs but haven't found success as their average opening partnership of 21.28 is the lowest among the 10 teams.
Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants are a side that is heavily dependent on their top order, and it has been performing well. The success of the top order has played a key role in LSG winning 5 matches and occupying the No.5 spot on the points table.
LSG bowlers, meanwhile, did a terrific job in the last match and pulled off a win from the jaws of defeat against the Rajasthan Royals. The biggest concern for them in the ongoing season has been the form of Rishabh Pant, who has looked extremely poor with the bat.
Talking about the IPL head-to-head record of the teams, currently, there is an even 3-3 split between LSG and DC, with the winner of the ongoing match taking an edge.
IPL 2025: Delhi Capitals win the toss and opt to field
Speaking after winning the toss, DC captain Axar Patel said that bowling first is an ideal choice on a red-soil wicket as dew comes later on in the innings. He said:
"We'll bowl. Red soil wicket and there was dew in the last game as well."
Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant revealed that they also wanted to bowl first. He said:
"Definitely (would have bowled first). It stops a bit in the first innings, gets better as the game progresses."
