Suryakumar Yadav led India to a T20I series against Australia after the World Cup. India won the series 4-1 as they won the fifth and final game in Bengaluru by 6 runs. This was SKY’s first T20I series as captain for team India.

Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma added a crucial 56-run stand to take India to 174/9 in Raipur in the fourth T20I. The track was very different from the normal pitch that the Chinnaswamy stadium offers. Shot making was difficult as the pitch was low and slow. Rinku and Jitesh’s partnership thus was very crucial to the end score.

Ahead of the first T20I against South Africa in Durban, Suryakumar Yadav revealed the message that he had for the duo when they stitched that partnership together. India was in a spot of bother at 111/4 in the 14th over. Rinku scored 46 off 29 and Jitesh scored 35 off 19.

“Right now, the number that Rinku and Jitesh has been batting for their state team and the IPL, they have been given the same opportunity here as well. We have told them to do the same thing they have been doing for their state and the IPL, and nothing different. They have been doing the same thing in T20I series against Australia. Whenever we were in trouble, they both showed character, and played according to the demand of the team” said SKY.
