Rishabh Pant produced another special moment in his Test career on Day 4 of the ongoing first Test between India and Sri Lanka at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.

Sri Lankan fast bowler Lahiru Kumara bowled a good-length delivery that moved towards Pant. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter quickly changed his position. Amid this, Devdutt Padikkal achieved what Cheteshwar Pujara couldn’t in his Test career.

Rishabh Pant’s monster six creates history in Test cricket

Rishabh Pant moved inside the line of the ball and played a powerful pull shot. He got underneath the delivery perfectly and sent it high over long leg for a huge six.

The shot was so powerful that Sri Lankan fielder Keshara Nuwantha, who was positioned inside the boundary, had almost no chance. Nuwantha tried his best and even jumped as high as possible to stop the ball, but the shot was simply too powerful, and the ball sailed over the boundary.

With that shot, Pant completed his 20th half-century in Test cricket. That massive six also helped the left-hander to achieve the massive feats. The six was Pant's 100th six in the format, making him only the fourth batter in Test history to reach the 100-six milestone.

Pant also becomes the fastest batter to hit 100 Test sixes, having reached this huge milestone in just 4,918 balls. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter reached the landmark 1,660 balls faster than the legendary Australian wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist, who is second on the list.

Rishabh Pant takes blow on back, undergoes concussion check

Pant was batting aggressively, but he had a scary moment on Day 4 of the first Test in Galle. Sri Lankan fast bowler Lahiru Kumara bowled a short delivery that came straight towards Pant's body. He tried to move away from the ball, but he could not completely avoid it.

The ball hit Pant on his back shoulder and then went towards the long-leg boundary. However, the umpires called it a dead ball, but this left the Indian camp a little worried for the wicketkeeper. After the ball hit him, the Indian team physio immediately came onto the field to check Pant.

Since the delivery had first hit Pant's back and then grazed his helmet while passing him with the ball making contact with his helmet, Pant had to undergo a concussion check as a precaution.

The physio also checked his back and gave him a massage to make sure there was no serious problem. Thankfully, Pant was fine and cleared to continue batting in Galle. Earlier, Ajinkya Rahane hilariously mimics Ravi Shastri on live TV show amid IND vs SL 1st Test.

Rishabh Pant falls for 66 after short-ball trap finally works for Lahiru Kumara

Following the hit, the left-hander played some attacking shots before losing his wicket. Kumara finally dismissed him after using the short-ball strategy. The fast bowler bowled short and wide outside off, and Pant tried to pull it.

However, the Indian star was not well-positioned and only managed a weak top edge. The ball went behind the wicketkeeper, where Niroshan Dickwella took an easy catch. Pant fell to the ground after playing the shot and looked disappointed as he had walked out after scoring 66 runs off 69 balls.
