Indian Cricket Team’s exuberant wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant had a terrible accident on 30th December (Friday). The batter was traveling alone in his Mercedes SUV and was heading back to his hometown Roorkee when his car crashed into a divider.
The batter has been an inseparable part of the Indian Cricket Team. Pant recently has been pretty good behind the wickets where his glove work has been remarkable. The left handed batter had played a critical role in winning in Australia in 2018 & 2020 tours.

DDCA on Rishabh Pant
DDCA Director Shyam Sharma was having an interaction with reporters and was asked about Rishabh Pant. “He is stable and recovering well. BCCI doctors are in touch with doctors at this hospital. BCCI would take a call on whether he has to be shifted anywhere for the best treatment. Pant told me he tried to avoid a pothole when the accident occurred.” said Shyam Sharma.
Concerns for Management
With the Border Gavaskar Test Series scheduled in February, the management would be worried as it is assumed that Pant would require quite some time to get back on his feet. The batter has got an injury to his knee and on his wrist as there are some cuts on his forehead too.
Pant is not a part of Sri Lanka white ball leg as the batter was supposed to be in NCA for Strength & Conditioning for the Australia Tests. BCCI must look for replacement as hurrying back Rishabh Pant won’t be a feasible option. It would be interesting to see whether they find a player of Rishabh Pant’s calibre.
