Rohit Sharma Becomes Most Capped T20I Player

India National Cricket Team all-format captain Rohit Sharma has become the most capped player in the history of T20 International cricket.

Rohit Sharma has been doing a great job since being appointed as the full-time captain of the Indian team. Notably, the 34-year-old was named as India’s T20I captain after Virat Kohli decided to step down from his role following the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.

Under the leadership of Rohit, the Indian team played their 100th T20 International match to become only the second team after Pakistan in history to play 100 games in the shorter format of the game.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has overall played 125 T20 International games and has been part of 83 wins and 38 losses. He went past Pakistan batsman Shoaib Malik’s tally of 124 T20 International games to become the most capped T20I player.

Rohit Sharma is participating in his 125th T20 International game at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala on Sunday, February 27 against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team in the third match of the three-match T20 International series.

After the toss, Rohit Sharma said that playing for India in 125 T20 Internationals is a “great feeling”. He said:

“It’s a great feeling representing your country in 125 T20Is, feels good, look to continue playing for many more years.”

Also, Rohit Sharma, who has represented India in most T20Is, is the highest run-getter in the history of T20 International cricket, having scored 3308 runs in 116 innings at an average of 32.75 and a strike rate of 139.87. Rohit has smashed 4 centuries and 26 half-centuries in T20Is and his highest score is 118.

Meanwhile, the player, who has represented India in the most number of Tests and One Day Internationals is legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who played 200 Tests and 463 One Day Internationals.
