Kuldeep Yadav was instrumental in India's T20 World Cup win with 10 wickets in the tournament. He was used very precisely and clearly by his skipper Rohit Sharma who won his first World Cup as captain.

There was a precise plan and approach on how Kuldeep was being used in this tournament by Rohit Sharma. He did play him throughout the New York leg of the World Cup. As soon as India started playing in the Caribbean pitches, Rohit unleashed Kuldeep Yadav as his masterstroke.

He brought him into the bowling attack as the partnership breaker and the chinaman never disappointed. Between 2019 and now he has increased his pace and tweaked his bowing action a little bit about how he spoke to Rev Sportz. In that same interview, he spoke about India's World Cup win and his relationship with skipper Rohit Sharma as well.

He first spoke about how Rohit had his hand in Kuldeep's remarkable rise since 2019 and the dip in between. He also said that Rohit has more belief in his abilities than he himself at times.

"He has always been very supportive and has a strong belief in my skills. There was a time when I did not have confidence in my own skills. He kept talking about the changes I need to make in my bowling way back in 2019. Rohit bhai felt if I can tweak a few areas in my bowling, I can be more difficult for the batters. When I came back from my injury, he constantly told me to make a few changes, which I did" said Kuldeep on Rohit.

He further spoke about how meticulously Rohit Sharma asked for him to deliver on the pitch. He further said that he is like an elder brother and loves him a lot.

"He is like an elder brother to me and loves me a lot. He is a very straightforward guy and tells me what he wants from me. He had a specific plan for me and that was to get wickets in the middle overs. He wanted to use me as an attacking spinner" said Kuldeep on Rohit's influence.

From losing his place in the side after the 2019 ODI World Cup to making a strong comeback after injury in 2022 Kuldep Yadabv has worked very hard on his overall game and fitness as well. He has now transformed himself into a wicket-taking spinner and he spoke about his role of breaking partnerships in the middle overs as well.

"As an attacking spinner, you always think about giving breakthroughs for your team. I was clear in my role that was given to me. My focus was to bowl on a good length. Not giving easy runs to the batters was in my mind. I always try to read the batsman’s mindset and try to outdo him. And that has worked in my success so far" said Kuldeep on his role for Team India.

He is on a break after returning from the Caribbean after the T20 World Cup win. He is expected to be back in the Indian squad for the tour to Sri Lanka.
