Rohit Sharma joins Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni in elite list as he achieves a spectacular milestone as India captain

India captain Rohit Sharma achieved a massive feat in international cricket as the skipper of the team. The opening batter completed 5000 runs as the leader of the India National Cricket Team, joining the likes of Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Sourav Ganguly. 

India captain Rohit Sharma achieved the feat in the ongoing semi-final 2 of the T20 World Cup 2024 against England. The knockout game between the two heavyweights of the game is underway at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday (27th June). 

Rohit Sharma, who scored a sensational 92 runs against Australia in the last game, made sure that he continues his golden touch in the ongoing game against England as well. The India skipper is holding the fort for his team at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. 

Rohit Sharma has been in the sensational touch in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. The India captain is leading from the front and is currently the leading run-getter for Team India in the tournament with over 200 runs to his name and three half-centuries in the kitty as well. 

In the ongoing semi-final against England, after India lost Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant, Rohit Sharma made sure that he stood tall for his team on the big stage. The senior batter has adjusted to the conditions pretty well and is looking solid with the bat, slamming a blistering half-century, taking his team to a solid position.

Rohit Sharma would be keen to step up for his team and score big in Guyana. The India captain ever since he took charge of the team has been magnificent with both bat as well as the captain of the team in all three formats of the game.

Virat Kohli has the most runs as the captain of the Indian team in international cricket. The premier batter has slammed 12883 runs as the captain. He is followed by MS Dhoni, who scored 11207 runs as the leader of Team India in all three formats of the game. 

Mohammad Azharuddin and Sourav Ganguly are next on the list with 8095 and 7643 runs to their name respectively. Rohit Sharma is there with over 5000 runs and behind him are Sachin Tendulkar (4508), Rahul Dravid (4394), Sunil Gavaskar (4151), and Kapil Dev (2928).
