'Rohit Sharma loves me' - Kuldeep Yadav gives entire credit to India captain for his success

India spinner Kuldeep Yadav opened up about his bond with skipper Rohit Sharma after the T20 World Cup 2024. He revealed how the captain of the team helped him stage the comeback and supported him during his tough time.

Kuldeep Yadav is currently one of the best spinners going around the world cricket. The chinaman bowler has made a huge impact on his team in all three formats of the game and is one of the main reasons behind the success of the team.

Kuldeep Yadav is one of the vital cogs in the wheel for the Indian National Cricket Team and is the genuine wicket-taker that a team needs. The spinner has often tilted the game in his team's favor and has won many matches from the losing positions in the game.

Kuldeep Yadav, however, has seen a lot of lows in his career as well. After the 2019 World Cup, he struggled with his bowling and couldn't make the kind of impact he would've wanted. He was even dropped from the team and to worsen the case more, he got injured.

However, he made a strong comeback and is the frontline spinner in the Indian bowling lineup. A lot of credit for his comeback goes to skipper Rohit Sharma, who gave him a lot of confidence and backed him in his tough time.

Kuldeep Yadav talked about his love for Rohit Sharma and admitted that the captain supported him a lot. He revealed how the senior batter told him to change things in his bowling at NCA. Speaking to NDTV, he explained:

"Absolutely. I mean, I have a lot of love for him. He also loves me a lot. He supported me a lot in tough times. When I was injured, I was in the NCA. I was training for 2-3 days. He told me that he didn't know how you would do it but when you come back, I want to see the changes I have told you to make in your bowling.'

"Straight away, when I came back from the injury, I came straight into the team. I didn't even get a chance to play domestic cricket. I was very happy about that. Whenever a player is injured, he plays domestic cricket first."

Kuldeep Yadav talked about how Rohit Sharma trusted him when he didn't have trust in himself. He hilariously stated that the captain now talks to him about his batting. He elaborated:

"He supported me a lot. He trusted me a lot. Maybe I didn't trust myself as much. The changes he told me to do and the changes I made, now he doesn't talk about bowling with me. He talks more about batting. That is also a good thing. I am taking batting very seriously. Hopefully, I will continue to bat well."

Kuldeep Yadav played a vital role in India lifting T20 World Cup 2024. He picked 10 wickets and helped the team etch the name in their record books.
