The new Indian white-ball captain Rohit Sharma is considered to be one of the best executors of the pull shot in world cricket and when a fan asked the hitman for help in perfecting the shot, the batter didn’t disappoint the budding cricketer with simple advice.
Rohit Sharma has made the pull shot look amazing and the fact that he plays it off the front foot is something to be amazed off. Hitting the pull shot is no mean feat off the back foot, which gives the batter a few extra milliseconds to judge the length of the ball and hit the ball either in the air or along the ground.
However, Rohit hit the pull shot off the front foot, which showcases how talented the Mumbai batter is that he has enough time to judge the length of the ball second early than the majority of batters and hit the ball, which usually goes sailing over the boundary for a six. Rohit seldom tries to keep the ball along the ground, instead, hitting it for the maximum.
On Wednesday, a Twitter user tweeted to Rohit seeking help on how to improve his pull shot.
“.@ImRo45, need your help on perfecting my pull shot. Not able to generate power when I am trying to control it,” the fan wrote.
the fan got lucky as the Hitman responded with an advice saying, “Don’t worry… if the bowler pitches it short, just slice it. What say, @mipaltan?”
Rohit Sharma Prime Contender To Become The New Test Captain Of Indian Team
Rohit Sharma had become the T20 captain after Virat Kohli stepped down from the post after the T20 World Cup 2021 and was later named the ODI captain as well by the BCCI. For the tour of South Africa, while announcing the Indian squad, the selectors also announced that Rohit would be leading the ODI squad as well.
However, Rohit Sharma suffered a hamstring injury and failed to recover in time for the South Africa tour and KL Rahul was named the ODI captain for the three-match series.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma, along with KL Rahul and Ravichandran Ashwin are the top contenders to become the next India Test captain according to new reports, with many feeling a stop-gap arrangement such as Rohit will be a great way to groom someone younger like KL Rahul or Rishabh Pant to take over when the time comes.
