Rohit Sharma's one-liners a total hit
The one-liners of the Indian captain are a total hit and the remarks he makes on the field quickly go viral on social media. Rohit often loses his cool on the field, seeing his teammates make blunders, and he doesn't shy away from expressing his anger.
During a Test match against England, his "Koi bhi garden mein ghumega to maa c***dunga sabka" remarks went viral, and while speaking about his team's sluggishness on The Great Indian Kapil Show, Rohit had said, "Hamara ladke sust murge hai."
In one of the recent Test matches, Rohit scolded youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal for jumping too soon while fielding at silly point, saying, "Gully cricket khel raha hai kya?, Niche baith ke rah, jab tak ball khelega nahi, uthne ka nahi."
Meanwhile, a player who has been constantly on the radar of Rohit Sharma for his mistakes has been Kuldeep Yadav. The left-arm wrist-spinner regularly gets bashed by his skipper.
In the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Rohit and Virat Kohli brutally abused Kuldeep for allowing the ball to go without attempting to collect it during the semi-final against Australia. Also, in the final against New Zealand, Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli bashed Kuldeep after he didn't run back behind the stumps to gather the throw.
The words exchanged on the ground aren’t meant to hurt anyone or show off - Rohit Sharma
In an interview with JioHotstar after the Champions Trophy 2025 win, Rohit Sharma said that the emotions sometimes run high and he gets carried away, but added that it's all in the spirit of the game.
"We have an incredibly solid team, and it’s a joy to play alongside such committed individuals. Everyone knows their role and responsibilities. Of course, emotions run high on the field. Sometimes, I get a bit carried away, but it’s all in the spirit of the game," said the Indian skipper.
"The words exchanged on the ground aren’t meant to hurt anyone or show off—they are just an expression of our passion. At the end of the day, our main goal is to win, and we are ready to do whatever it takes to achieve that," he added.
We went undefeated despite losing all five tosses - Rohit Sharma
Despite India's ICC Champions Trophy 2025 triumph, Rohit Sharma hit a historic low, becoming the captain to lose most consecutive tosses and equalled Brian Lara's record of 12.
Talking about this, Rohit said that they won all the matches in the marquee 50-over competition despite the coin not landing in their favour, which is a massive achievement.
"We went undefeated despite losing all five tosses. Yet, we still won the trophy. Across the five matches we played, we didn’t lose a single one. Winning a tournament without a single defeat is a massive achievement in itself, and it gives me immense satisfaction," said Rohit.
"To be honest, until we won the trophy, no one really thought about it. But after the victory, it hit us—we had gone through the entire tournament undefeated. That realisation made it even more special. It’s difficult to put into words how that feels right now," he added.
