Rohit Sharma was on a much-needed vacation this month after leading Team India to glory in the T20 World Cup last month.

Under his captaincy, the Men in Blue came up with a stunning display in the tournament and helped India clinch the title after a long gap of 17 years. The victory also ended Team India's 11-year wait for an ICC trophy. India's campaign was a historic one as they became the first-ever team to win the T20 World Cup without losing a single game in the competition.

Rohit Sharma also led his team from the very front in the tournament. He was one of the best batters in the World Cup and finished the tournament as India's highest run-scorer. Only Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored more runs than him in the tournament. Rohit Sharma scored 257 runs in 8 games with the help of 3 half-centuries.

After the victory in Barbados, he and the Indian team celebrated the triumph with the fans during in Mumbai. The team was also felicitated by the BCCI at the Wankhede Stadium on June 4. Rohit Sharma was also honored by the Maharashtra chief minister. Following the felicitation events, he and his family left for the USA to enjoy a much-needed vacation.

Rohit Sharma returns to India:

Rohit Sharma along with his wife and daughter spent a couple of weeks in the USA before returning to Mumbai on Thursday (July 25), according to a report in Sports Tak.

Rohit landing in Mumbai has surprised several fans as they were expecting him to be in Sri Lanka to prepare for the upcoming ODI series. The Indian team left for Sri Lanka earlier this week and has already started training for the upcoming series.

Well, Rohit Sharma was not a part of that contingent because he is no longer a part of the T20I team. The India captain had announced his retirement from T20Is after the World Cup victory last month. He along with the likes of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul will be leaving for Sri Lanka soon for the ODI series.

Before the ODIs, Team India is scheduled to play three T20Is against Sri Lanka. The T20Is will be played from July 27. On the other hand, the ODIs will get underway on August 2.
