Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar pointed out a crucial issue in Rajasthan Royals’ lineup going ahead into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He said that although they have a quality team and are a strong unit but they lack death bowling.
Rajasthan Royals suffered a disappointing 7-run loss in their 7th game of the IPL 2023 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, despite the loss they are still on the top of the points table with 4 wins under their belt, such has been their dominance this season.

Manjrekar feels that midway through the IPL, Rajasthan Royals are the best team but they have a red flag in their lineup and that’s their death bowling. While speaking on ESPNCricinfo, he said:
IPL 2023 | India National Cricket Team | Chennai Super Kings (CSK) | Delhi Capitals (DC) | Gujarat Titans (GT) | Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) | Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) | Mumbai Indians (MI) | Punjab Kings (PBKS) | Rajasthan Royals (RR) | Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) | SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH)
“Rajasthan Royals for me because of Jos Buttler, Ravi Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal. I don’t agree that they have all bases covered because I think they still have an issue with their death bowling and apart from them Gujarat Giants.”

Tom Moody, who was also present in the discussion, also feels that at the midway in the tournament, Rajasthan Royals are the stand-out team for thin as they have every base covered. He added:
“Rajasthan Royals have been the stand-out team for me. They have almost all of their bases covered. They have just got every aspect of their squad spot on and what has helped them is the inclusion of Jason Holder, who they targeted in the auction, who has given them the perfect balance.”
Rajasthan Royals will be next seen in action when they will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their next game on Thursday (27th April).
