Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has lavished rich praise on Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson for his performances in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He said that the keeper batter has faith his in ability just like MS Dhoni.

RR skipper Sanju Samson has been going through a decent campaign in the IPL 2023 both as a leader and as a batter. The right-hander has led from the front and it is because of his batting and captaincy that his side is on the top of the table with 4 wins out of their 5 games.

In RR’s recent game against GT, Samson played a match-winning knock and guided his side home. Despite wickets falling at the other end, the keeper-batter kept his side in the hunt while chasing 178 runs. He blasted a 32-ball 60-run knock to set the platform for others to finish the game.

Harbhajan Singh was impressed with Samson’s knock against GT and said that he should be a regular feature in the Indian team. He also said that he has a great ability to absorb pressure. Speaking on Star Sports, he said:

“We’ve seen another captain’s knock from Sanju. I have said in the past and still believe that he should be a regular feature in the Indian national side (in white ball format). He plays spinners and fast bowlers with equal ease. He knows how to absorb pressure and is a strong-willed player. He has faith in his abilities, just like MS Dhoni.”

RR vs LSG: Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals to take on Lucknow Super Giants in their next game in IPL 2023
