RR vs PBKS: Riyan Parag joins Shaun Marsh, Suryakumar Yadav in unique list as he creates history for Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter Riyan Parag achieved a massive feat in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The middle-order batter became the fifth uncapped player in the tournament to score over 500+ runs in the single edition of the league.

Riyan Parag achieved the feat in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter in the game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) underway at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati went past the 500-run mark in the 17th edition of the league.

Riyan Parag, who was struggling to get going in the previous editions of the IPL, has set the stage on fire in the ongoing IPL 2024. He has been a standout performer this year for his team and is one of the main reasons why Rajasthan Royals have been a successful batting unit this year.

Riyan Parag is having his best season in the IPL and has made many go gaga about his batting. In the ongoing game against Punjab Kings, he yet again has been the shining light for his team when things have been difficult for the other batters.

While every other Rajasthan Royals batter has struggled to get going, Riyan Parag showed great application and bailed the team out of trouble when they were reeling at 102/6. He has held the one end and made sure he keeps scoring runs.

Riyan Parag played a brilliant innings of 48 runs off 34 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 141 and also hit 6 boundaries in his innings. His valiant effort with the bat powered Rajasthan Royals to a fighting total of 144 runs, which at one moment seemed difficult.

With Riyan Parag completing 500 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, it became the first instance of two Rajasthan batters aggregating 500 or more in a single IPL season. Apart from Parag, skipper Sanju Samson has achieved the feat this year for RR with 504 runs to his name.

Many in the team love eating pork - Riyan Parag arranges special feasts for his teammates 

Riyan Parag, who hails from Guwahati, recently was asked about what he doing for his teammates in his hometown. He claimed that he would be arranging a special feast for his fans and added that they would be visiting Kamakhya Temple. Speaking at press conference, he explained: 

"Many in the team love eating pork. During the few days break, we will be visiting Kamakhya Temple and will also travel to Kaziranga." 

Riyan Parag has been in good form in the ongoing IPL 2024. He is currently the fourth-leading run-getter of the season with 531 runs to his name. He also has slammed 4 fifties, at an average of 59 and a strike rate of 152.58.
