S Sreesanth vs Gautam Gambhir Saga: Legends League Cricket Orders Probe

The Legends League Cricket (LLC 2023) has seen an unwanted controversy between two former Indian cricketers Gautam Gambhir and S Sreesanth. The controversy happened during the Eliminator match between the Gujarat Giants and the India Capitals.
The Capitals led by Gambhir won the match by 12 runs but not before the skipper found himself amid unwanted controversy with his former Indian teammate. Below is a timeline of the events that panned out.
In the second over of the India Capitals innings, Gambhir struck Sreesanth for a six and a four. Then, the bowler bowled a dot ball after which there was a flare-up between the two. Umpires had to interrupt as players from both sides got into a verbal altercation.

LLC Announces Probe On Gautam Gambhir vs S Sreesanth Spat
Syed Kirmani, the head of code of conduct & ethics committee of Legends League Cricket, said that they’ll be conducting an internal probe into the matter. Here is a statement from him on the incident.
“Legends League Cricket strives to uphold the spirit of cricket and sportsmanship and will conduct an internal investigation on the violation of the code of conduct. Any misconduct that has occurred both on and off the field including on social media platforms will be dealt with strictly.
“The code of conduct has clearly stated that necessary action will be taken against players that bring disrepute to the league, the spirit of the game and the teams that they are representing. We make our stand very clear and continue to work towards sharing the game with millions of cricketing lovers across the nation and world,” Kirmani said as quoted by the Legends League Cricket’s X handle.

Meanwhile, Gambhir’s ‘fixer’ comments on Sreesanth referred to his 2013 spot-fixing case in the IPL. Sreesanth along with Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan, on charges of spot-fixing. Sreesanth was arrested at his friend’s house. All three were playing for the Rajasthan Royals franchise at the time. The BCCI banned Sreesanth from playing any form of cricket. The Supreme Court then lifted all the charges from Sreesanth allowing him to make a comeback.
