SA vs SL: Watch: Marco Jansen Takes A Stunning Catch To Send Sadeera Samarawickrama Packing In ICC World Cup 2023

Marco Jansen is all over the Sri Lanka Cricket Team in the second innings of the 4th match of the ICC World Cup 2023. The match is currently taking place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi it has been all about Proteas. 

Sri Lanka while chasing the target of 429 runs lost early wickets. The credit for that goes to Marco Jansen with both ball and on the field. While the wickets he took were for everyone to praise, he displayed a staggering effort in the field that sent Sadeera Samarawickrama packing. 

It was during the 14th over when Gerald Coetzee bowled a good-length cross-seam delivery. Sadeera Samarawickrama closed the face of the bat too early as he tried to clip it away. The ball caught the leading edge and went to mid-on, where Marco Jansen took a brilliant low catch.

Sadeera Samarawickrama scored 23 runs off 19 balls. He smashed 9 fours and 1 six in his innings. After his wicket, Sri Lanka had a partnership between Charith Asalanka (79) and Dasun Shanaka that brought them back into the game. 

But after that Charith Asalanka lost his wicket and Sri Lanka was put again on the back foot. South Africa are on the top in the game and would be looking to close the game early to boost their NRR, which might come in handy during the fag end of the tournament. 

SA vs SL: Marco Jansen jolts Sri Lanka early with blows of Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera 

Marco Jansen took South Africa off the flier in the second innings as he bowled magnificently well with the new ball. He first castled Pathum Nissanka with an inswinger that went through the gate and sent clattered the off stump. 

If this was not enough, Marco Jansen then removed Kusal Perera with a peach. He produced an extra bounce that made the batter go on front defense. The ball went through and hit the stumps. The batter managed just 7 runs.
