Some Calcium Deposits Were Found In The Main Line – Sandeep Patil
“On his advice, I underwent CT angio at the Jaslok Hospital under Dr Shrinivas Desai. Some calcium deposits were found in the main line. On Thursday, Dr AB Mehta and Dr Ajit Desai will perform angiography. During that process, they will decide the further course of action.”
Patil served as chairman of selectors and head of the national selection committee from 2012 to 2016. He contested for the post of Mumbai Cricket Association president in October but lost to Amol Kale.
I Want To Spread Awareness About Health Issues – Sandeep Patil
The former cricketer is one of many who have recently suffered from heart problems. Patil’s 1983 World Cup teammate, Yashpal Sharma, passed away due to cardiac arrest in July 2021. The captain of the 1983 team, Kapil Dev was also hospitalized in 2020 due to heart ailments. The World Cup winner remained cheerful and stated that no one should risk their health.
“Our 1983 (World Cup-winning) team has lost Yash (Yashpal Sharma, passed away in July 2021 due to cardiac arrest) and then Kapil had a heart problem, now it’s me. But not to worry. It’s a 66-year-old machine, needed servicing!,” he said.

“I want to spread awareness about health issues. One should accept the facts and surrender. If you feel something is wrong with you, don’t waste time, contact the doctor instead of saying that I am a Tarzan and nothing will happen to me. It can happen with anybody, however fit you are,” he added.
Sandeep Patil represented India in 29 Tests and 45 ODIs. He scored 1588 runs in Tests at an average of 36.09, including four centuries and seven fifties. He scored 1005 runs in ODIs at an average of 24.51, including nine half-centuries. He also took 9 wickets in Tests and 15 in ODIs.
