Rajasthan Royals batsman Riyan Parag has named Mumbai Indians spearhead pacer Jasprit Bumrah as the toughest bowler to face. Riyan Parag is currently serving his mandatory quarantine period before he is allowed to train for the IPL 2021.

While in his hotel room, the batting all-rounder answered some of the questions from fans. One of which asked Parag about the toughest bowler he has faced. Without any qualms, he said that it would be Jasprit Bumrah, who has bowled 4 balls to Parag in the IPL and the batsman could manage just 2 runs off it.

The 19-year-old further opined that Bumrah is the best fast bowler in the world and that even facing him, let alone to score off, is a challenging task.

“That’d be very easy. That would be Jasprit Bumrah. I think he is the world’s best. Facing him and scoring against him is a nightmare,” Riyan Parag said in a video uploaded on the franchises’ Instagram page.

The Assam captain further revealed that his favourite shot is the pull shot; his favourite IPL team to play against is the 2-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders. Riyan Parag has played 19 innings for the Royals – he averages 20.5 at a strike rate of 121.18. He was impressive last season where he featured in 12 matches and played a couple of handy knocks in the death overs.

“My favorite cricket shot is the pull shot. I get a lot of runs with that. So yeah, that’s my favorite shot. My favorite IPL team to play against would be Kolkata (Knight Riders) because first, I like playing in Eden. And second, I think they really have top quality quickies,” the youngster added.

After finishing at the bottom of the table last season, Rajasthan Royals will begin their campaign, under new captain Sanju Samson, on April 12th against Punjab Kings in Mumbai.
