As anticipation builds for the highly anticipated five-match Test series between Australia and India, Scott Boland has stirred excitement with his confident declaration regarding the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Boland, known for his fiery pace and crucial breakthroughs, believes that the Australian cricket team is poised to challenge the Indian giants and win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 on their home turf.

Scott Boland declares Australia is ready to dominate India in Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

Boland sounded very confident about Australia's prospects in the upcoming five-match Test series against India later this year at home despite losing back-to-back series to the tourists.

The Australian pacer confidently said that the hosts have a world-class bowling attack at their disposal, and they are well equipped to handle the formidable Indian cricket team this time.

The WTC champions will have the home advantage, and Boland feels it will play a significant role in their favor against Team India in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which the Kangaroos have not won for almost a decade.

Scott Boland said in a video shared by the Australian journalist Daniel Cherny on X (formerly Twitter): “Yeah, I think so (on Australia being able to take down India). I think we've got obviously a world-class bowling attack, some of the best bowlers in the world as they do, but I think in our home conditions we can get the job done.”

I wouldn’t call Virat Kohli my bunny: Boland

Meanwhile, the Australian pace sensation also reacted to the prospects of facing Indian batting legend Virat Kohli in the upcoming five-match Test series, starting on November 22. Boland had the honor of dismissing Kohli in the WTC final last year, but he rejected seeing it as a personal triumph.

With a chuckle, Boland downplayed the notion of having Kohli as his "bunny," but he expressed eagerness for another showdown with the dashing right-hander in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

He declared that Australia will be looking to exploit every opportunity to outfox their Indian counterparts, promising a fiercely contested Test series between the two rivals. Boland added, “I wouldn’t say that. Yeah, it was nice to get him out, and hopefully, I have a chance to have a crack at him again.”

At the end, the Australian pacer said that he is looking forward to the upcoming season. He signed off by saying, “We're looking forward to it. This isn't the summer's day that we hoped for in about a month's time when the season kicks off, but the season will come around pretty quick, and we're excited.”

Notably, Australia’s Test skipper Pat Cummins has recently confirmed that all-rounders Cameron Green and Mitchell Marsh will get more chances with the ball in the upcoming Test series against India.

Cummins, who is set to become a father for the second time, recently told media: “I suspect this summer might be a bit different at the time. We’ll be drawing on Cam Green and Mitch Marsh a bit more.”
