Former New Zealand cricketer Scott Styris took a cheeky jab at the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Rajasthan Royals after they released a list of goals to achieve in the new year.

One of the satirical goals was to achieve a higher ranking in Styris’ predictions. He had predicted that the team would finish in eighth place in IPL 2021 and the team did end up in the bottom half but in seventh place instead.

Following the tweet from RR, Styris responded: “At least make them realistic (wink emoji).

Here’s Scott Styris’ tweet:

Rajasthan has retained three players ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. Captain Sanju Samson, wicket-keeper batter, Jos Buttler, and young prospect, Yashasvi Jaiswal, will stay with the team for the next three years at the least.

In order to have a better season, the franchise will be keen on building a more balanced squad compared to the previous years. They are extremely reliant on Samson to deliver in every game as seen in the previous season.

This time around, there are quite a few potential players available and their auction purse is also large. Director of Cricket Operations for RR, Kumar Sangakkara, will look to strategise and bring in a lot more all-rounders as compared to before, having lost Ben Stokes this year.
