Former Indian cricketers Sreesanth and Harbhajan Singh marked one of the most controversial exchanges ever witnessed in the history of the IPL back in 2008; however, the long-dumped slapgate controversy has resurfaced through a video exposed by former IPL chairman Lalit Modi during his exchange with former Australian skipper Michael Clarke.

For those unknown to the brawl, it took place between Indian cricketers Harbhajan Singh and the Kerala Pacer in an IPL match between the Mumbai Indians and the Kings XI Punjab. The brawl got so intense that Sreesanth was spotted in tears after his team won the match.

However, 17 years since the incident have passed by, and the players have spoken of it publicly, also addressing that they have resolved all issues between them and now have mutual respect and honour their dignity as individual cricketers.

Lalit Modi reveals footage of an ugly exchange between former Indian players in the IPL

The feud between the Indian former cricketers Harbhajan Singh and Sreesanth during the inaugural season of the IPL back in 2008, which took an ugly shape with Singh slapping the fast bowler, has once again taken a controversial shape, as Lalit Modi reveals the video publicly.

This incident left the young pacer in tears, while Harbhajan was penalized for the derogatory move and had to bear an 11-match suspension, which ruled the stand-in skipper out for the remainder of the season.

However, after 17 years, Lalit Modi has reignited the fire by releasing the video of the incident during an interaction with former World Cup-winning Australian captain Michael Clarke in the Beyond23 Podcast.

Sreesanth's wife takes 'Inhuma, Heatless' dig at Michael Clarke and Lalit Modi

After the video went viral on social media platforms, the former cricketer's wife, Bhuvneshwari, slammed the former Australian as well as Modi on the incident and also claimed that they should be sued for the act.

"Shame on you, Lalit Modi and Michael Clarke. You people are not even human to drag up something from 2008 just for your own cheap publicity and views. Both Sreesanth and Harbhajan have long moved on; they are fathers now with school-going children, and yet you try to throw them back into an old wound. Absolutely disgusting, heartless, and inhuman," she wrote.
"Sreesanth has rebuilt his life with dignity and grace after every hardship he faced. As his wife, and as the mother of his children, it is deeply painful for our family to see this resurface after 18 long years. Families are being forced to relive trauma that was buried decades ago only so you can chase views. This doesn’t just hurt the players, it scars their innocent children who now have to face questions and shame for no fault of theirs."
"You should be sued for doing something so cheap and inhumane. Sreesanth is a man of strength and character, and no video can take that dignity away from him. Fear God before you hurt families and innocent children for your own gain.," Bhuvneshwari wrote on Instagram as well in the comments section on YouTube.

Harbhajan Singh opened up on his biggest regret following the incident

Just a few months back, Harbhajan Singh also spoke on the incident, claiming that if there was one thing he could change in his life, it would be that incident with Sreesanth. This realization hit him hard after the former KXIP paceman's daughter refused to have a word with Bhajji.

“One thing I’d want to change in my life is that incident with Sreesanth. I want to remove that incident from my career. That is the incident I would change from my list. What transpired was wrong, and I shouldn’t have done what I did. I apologized 200 times," said Singh in an exchange with former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on his 'Kutti Stories with Ash' show.
