The legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli has retired from the two formats for India and is expected to be seen in one-dayers; however, a recent chat with Jemimah Rodrigues revealed how the global icon was asked to leave the cafe by their staff.
Indian women's cricket team star Jemimah Rodrigues has shared how she was a witness to an interesting incident involving legendary batter Virat Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma. This incident occurred when the player, alongside her teammate Smriti Mandhana, approached Kohli during the tour of New Zealand.

Both the Indian Men's and the Women's teams were placed in the same hotel during a tour to New Zealand, and the Women's star has shared insights on an incident that marked their interaction with the Indian batting legend Virat Kohli.
"Once we were in New Zealand. Smriti and I were there, and the men's and women's teams were staying in the same hotel. So Smriti and I asked Virat if he could talk to us about batting. He said, 'Yeah, please come,' and then he told us to come down to the cafe," said Jemimah in an interaction with The Bombay Journey.
"For the first half an hour, we spoke only about cricket," she added.
"We talked a lot about batting and related things. After that, we just spoke about life, like how long-lost friends meet and chat," Rodrigues said.
She then revealed how they kept talking for hours, as a result of which they were finally asked to leave by the cafe staff as the closing time had approached.
"We ended up talking for four hours - half an hour on batting and four hours on random stuff. The only reason we stopped was because the cafe staff kicked us out. They said, 'That's it, it's done now. It's 11:30, you need to leave,'" she revealed.
Jemimah also recalled how Kohli gave her and Smriti an inspirational message
When asked for tips on batting strategy, the legendary Indian cricketer Virat Kohli gave several key insights to the two women cricketers who have been looked upon as the two finest cricketers of the next generation of women cricketers.
"You both have the power to change women's cricket. And I can see that happening. Just take up that responsibility because the change you can bring is going to be big and massive," recalled Jemimah.
On being asked if she spoke to him about the similarities between her and Kohli's batting style, Jemimah said, "Yes, I did speak to him"
Virat Kohli is expected to return to one-dayers against Australia
The speculations over Virat Kohli's international retirement have taken over the internet, while the Indian management has hinted at Kohli's retention in the side. He has retired from the other two formats of the game.
Virat might be part of the upcoming India A series as a preparatory series for making his Team India return in the Australian white-ball tour. The series is expected to start on the 19th of October in Australia.
