India National Cricket Team captain Shreyas Iyer is currently enjoying a great time both as T20I skipper and batter. After leading the Men in Blue to the Gold Medals at the Asian Games 2026, Shreyas Iyer has made a stunning start to the five-match T20I series against the West Indies at home.

The India captain smashed his first-ever T20I century in the first T20I against the West Indies in Lucknow on Tuesday, October 6. With his explosive knock, Iyer has made a massive jump in the updated ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings shared by the global body on Wednesday, October 7.

Shreyas Iyer storm into ICC T20I Top 10 after Lucknow century

Shreyas Iyer has climbed 18 places in the latest ICC T20I Player Rankings after smashing a stunning century that helped India to beat the West Indies by eight wickets in the first T20I in Lucknow.

With this, Iyer jumped into the Top 10 of the ICC T20I Player Rankings for the first time in his career. The 31-year-old is now ranked seventh in the updated rankings, with four batters now featuring among the leading batters in the shorter format of the game in the latest ICC T20I Player Rankings.

Ishan Kishan continues to be the world’s No. 1 T20I batter, while Abhishek Sharma remains second. Iyer has jumped to seventh, and Tilak Varma is sitting at 10th. Amid this, Rishabh Pant suffers back injury in fresh setback.

Rashid Khan reclaims No.1 spot; Sherfane Rutherford makes big jump

Meanwhile, West Indies power-hitter Sherfane Rutherford made a strong move after scoring a half-century in the first T20I against India. This helped Rutherford climb 10 places to 37th in the latest ICC T20I batting rankings.

However, there is huge movement in the ICC T20I bowling rankings. Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed has lost the No. 1 position, with Afghanistan superstar Rashid Khan taking the top spot after the Asian Games 2026 in Japan.

India spinner Axar Patel made one of the biggest jumps of his career, gaining 16 places to reach seventh. Bangladesh’s Nasum Ahmed moved three places to eighth, while his teammate Mahedi Hasan climbed an impressive 10 spots to ninth in the latest rankings.

Shubman Gill strengthens ODI No.1 ranking after record 223

Speaking about the updated ICC ODI rankings, Shubman Gill has strengthened his position at the top of the batting rankings after his record-breaking unbeaten 223 in the second ODI in Guwahati. His double century against the West Indies pushed his rating to 841 points.

Another Indian star, KL Rahul, made an even bigger jump, rising seven places to enter the top 10 at joint 10th in the latest ICC ODI Batting Rankings. West Indies captain Shai Hope also climbed two places to sixth after smashing 162 in the final ODI.

West Indies stars make big moves in ODI Batting Rankings

West Indies left-hander Amir Jangoo moved from outside the top 100 all the way to 55th in the ODI batting rankings. His teammate Jayden Seales climbed 12 places to 10th among ODI bowlers after taking four wickets during the series against India.

In the ICC ODI all-rounder rankings, USA star Milind Kumar moved up four places to his career-best position 10th after scoring an impressive century against the UAE in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 competition.
