Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is happy with the return of pacer Shaheen Afridi to the Test team. The Pakistan batter said that Shaheen Afridi always motivates and lifts the team. Pakistan is currently on a tour to Sri Lanka.
Left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi has not played any Test match for Pakistan since July 2022. He is part of the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka. Recently, the left-armer picked 4 wickets in the two-day practice match against Sri Lanka President’s XI.

Shaheen Afridi Always Motivates And Lifts The Team: Babar Azam
In a video shared by Pakistan Cricket on Twitter, skipper Babar Azam said he was pleased with the return of Shaheen Afridi to the Test team. Azam also added that the 23-year-old old is hungry to make a comeback in Test cricket.
“I am particularly pleased with the return of Shaheen Shah Afridi. Besides his wicket-taking abilities, his presence always motivates and lifts the side. I know Shaheen has badly missed red-ball cricket and is now hungry for Test cricket,” Azam said.

The right-handed batter also said that the team is really excited about the Test series against Sri Lanka and is prepared for the challenge on foreign soil.
“Really excited to be back in the red-ball format and all eyes are on the Galle Test as we are prepared and ready for the challenge. We are taking one step at a time, but we have to be consistent across all formats,” the Lahore-based player added.
Pakistan is set to face Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series. The SL vs PAK 1st Test begins on July 16 (Sunday) at Galle International Stadium in Galle. The 2nd Test will start on July 24 at Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.

Pakistan last played a T20I and ODI series against New Zealand at home in April-May. The T20I series ended in a 2-2 draw. Pakistan won the ODI series convincingly 4-1. Sri Lanka recently took part in ICC World Cup qualifiers, where they won the final to qualify for ODI World Cup 2023.
