Former BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly has surprisingly chosen not to contest elections for the Cricket Association of Bengal post of President. Astonishingly, he was not given a second term at BCCI. It was noted that not a single BCCI President has been at the helm for a consecutive second term.
The left-handed batter has been a great contributor to Indian Cricket. Under his tenure, India had become a force to reckon with in Test Cricket and most importantly India won the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2022 against all odds. He would be disappointed that India didn’t win a single ICC tournament since 2019.

CAB elections
Sourav Ganguly earlier had stated on 15th October that he would contest the elections. He has nominated his brother for the elections which is quite astounding. His decision would mean that there are chances that he may be a representative from BCCI for ICC Chairman Post.

Interesting Phase for World Cricket
There are Chairman Presidential Elections after the conclusion of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Greg Barclay is the current ICC Chairman and under his tenure, the game of Cricket has reached to new heights. It would be interesting to see the representative of BCCI.

Sourav Ganguly would be hoping that he gets a chance at the International Level. The other board members would be hoping that the Chairman comes from the Big 3. It would be quite fascinating to see how things unfold as ICC is still trying its best to include Olympics in 2028.
