Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) spinner Karn Sharma didn't take long to add his name to the wickets tally in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The 41st game of the tournament is underway at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad between RCB vs SRH.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowlers are all over the Sunrisers Hyderabad batters in their home ground, the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The spinners have been magnificent with the ball and have kept their team at the top.
After Swapnil Singh took two wickets, Karn Sharma added his name to the wickets tally. SRH all-rounder Nitish Reddy was looking to settle at the crease, but the RCB spinner had the better of him and provided his team with a crucial breakthrough.
During the second ball of the 8th over, Karn Sharma bowled a tossed-up delivery in the middle. Nitish Reddy went for a big reverse sweep but got beaten by the leg break. The ball went on to crash into the top of the off stump to send the batter packing at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Nitish Reddy scored just 13 runs off 13 balls. His wicket saw Sunrisers Hyderabad lose their fifth wicket, leaving them reeling at 69/5. The leg-spinner has been bowling magnificently well in the ongoing game, putting the batters under pressure while chasing a total of over 200 runs.
Karn Sharma didn't stop there as after that, he removed Abdul Samad as well in the the next over that he bowled. The leg-spinner outfoxed the batter and made sure that he helped his team get the 6th wicket with the ball at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Karn Sharma bowled a length ball on the leg stump, to which Abdul Samad tried to work it through the on-side. The ball gripped and turned and took the leading edge as the ball was safely pouched by the bowler. The batter managed just 10 runs off 6 balls.
I was just planning my innings, I was not thinking about a century - Rajat Patidar
Rajat Patidar, who played a brutal innings of 50 runs off 20 balls, talked about his knock and said that he was planning his innings and was taking ball by ball. He also opened up about his 4 sixes against Mayank Markande, saying that he tried to maximize the over.
Rajat Patidar also talked about the conditions, stating that his bowlers should use slower balls on the wicket. Speaking to broadcasters, he explained:
"I think the surface is double-paced, especially for fast bowlers. We can use cutters well on this wicket. The spinners will try to bowl back of a length as much as possible. I was just planning my innings, I was not thinking about century. (4 consecutive sixes vs Markande) It was not a plan, but I started well in that over; I was trying to maximise.
"Playing spinners, I try to maximise. to take as many runs in an over as I can, to keep the pressure on the bowler. I was trying to maximise the fast bowler as well, but I'll try in the next match. (Advice to the bowlers) We should use good slower balls on this wicket," he concluded.
