Indian Women’s Cricket Team would be riding high on confidence after winning against their arch-rivals Pakistan. The Women in Blue chased down the highest total of 150 runs in Women’s T20 World Cup history. The chase wasn’t an easy one for India where Pakistani bowlers were spot-on with their line & length.

Jemmiah Rodrigues played a turbulent knock of 53 runs in 38 balls where she struck 8 fours and took calculative risks. The Women in Blue had a terrific start to their campaign and now would be aiming to keep the winning run. India’s next match is against West Indies on Wednesday (15th February).

Smriti Mandhana Available for Selection

Smriti Mandhana didn’t play the match against Pakistan due to a finger injury. It is reported that Smriti Mandhana would play the match against West Indies. The left-handed batter has the knack of playing long & effective knocks for the team and at the same time can play a waiting game which is priceless in this modern cricket. It would be interesting to see whether Smriti hits form immediately as a win for India would take them one step closer to the semi-finals.

Exciting Match on Cards

West Indies had a forgettable start to the T20 WC campaign where England chased down the target of 136 with more than 5 overs remaining and won the match by 7 wickets. West Indies Women’s Cricket Team needs to bring their ‘A’ game against India as India has got a lot of match-winners present in the team.

Indian Women’s Cricket Team needs to work on their bowling as they conceded 91 runs in the last 10  overs which is unacceptable. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur needs to play a bit more responsibly as India doesn’t have a deep batting lineup. All eyes would be on Shafali Verma as the batter has to set the tone for the team. Her experience of the U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup would be quite decisive.
