Steven Smith All Set To Play For Three Championship Games For Sussex

Australian Cricket Team star right-handed batter Steven Smith has joined Sussex for 3 Championship Games. The Aussies are almost qualified for the World Test Championship (WTC 2021-23) final where they are placed at the top of the table and have been quite ruthless.

Steven Smith went unsold in the IPL Auction 2023 which was quite surprising. The batter’s decision to play County Cricket can prove to be a decisive one as after WTC, the Aussies are scheduled to play Ashes which promises to be an enthralling contest.

Steven Smith was having an interaction with the media and was asked about the stint with Sussex.

“I am excited about joining Sussex for a few games in May and hopefully making a contribution to a successful season. I am particularly looking forward to working with the younger players in the squad and hoping I can provide some guidance to them,” said Steven Smith.

Sussex Cricket SEO Rob Andrew was quite delighted with the joining of Steven Smith.

“Our Championship form has not been good enough for a number of years, and under the new direction of head coach Paul Farbrace, we are looking to be positive and ambitious. Being able to attract a player of Steve Smith’s calibre is a massive statement and will be of great benefit to our young homegrown players, particularly our crop of talented young batters,” he added.
