Jharkhand and India wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan recently made his India debut in the T20I series against England and lighted up the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in his maiden outing for the Men in Blue.

Kishan, who hails from the same state as former India captain MS Dhoni and captains Jharkhand in domestic cricket, scored a fifty on his debut against England in the second T20I while opening the batting and made 56 in 32 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes to his name.

He then made 4 runs in the next T20I, before missing the next two T20Is due to a small niggle, as India registered a 3-2 series win over England.

Welcome Ishan Kishan: Mumbai Indians  

Ishan Kishan is one of the batting pillars for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL and it was his performance for the IPL 2020 champions in the IPL 13, which earned him his maiden Indian team call-up. Kishan had made more than 500 runs in the IPL 2020 with 4 half-centuries to his name. He averaged 57.33 and made runs at a strike-rate of 145.76 and hit 30 sixes as well.

After the conclusion of the India-England T20I series, Ishan Kishan, who is not a part of the upcoming three-match ODI series, joined the Mumbai Indians pre-IPL 2021 season camp. The Mumbai Indian official Twitter account shared a photo of Kishan and welcomed him home.

Ishan Kishan had a good outing in the domestic 50-over tournament, the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he hit 173 against Madhya Pradesh and did well in the tournament behind the stumps as well. In 97 T20s, Kishan has 2432 runs with 2 centuries and 13 half-centuries to his name at a strike-rate of 133.77.

Kishan had made his IPL debut in 2016 for the Gujarat Lions franchise, right after leading the Indian U19 team to the finals of the Youth World Cup that year. He played two seasons for the Lions franchise, before being bought by the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2018 auction.

In 51 IPL matches, Kishan has 1211 runs with 7 fifties to his name at a strike-rate of 136.83 and the best score of 99.
