Suryakumar Yadav backed to destroy Bangladesh in T20 World Cup as Harbhajan Singh puts spotlight on 2 in-form players

Former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh will be keeping a close eye on Suryakumar Yadav for the game against Bangladesh in ICC T20 WC 2024.
The Asian rivals will meet each other later today at the Sir Viv Richards stadium in what is going to be the second game of Super 8 for both teams. All eyes will be on the Indian players, who featured in the finale of the previous white-ball ICC tournament in 2023 without losing a single match. The likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav among others are still in the team.
They will be aiming for redemption in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Every Indian is hoping for the team to do what the BCCI Honorable Secretary Jay Shah had said in Gujarat, a couple of months ago. That India under Rohit Sharma's captaincy, will hoist the tri-color flag high and lift the T20 World Cup in Barbados on 29th June.
For that to happen, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will need to find form while Suryakumar Yadav has to retain his form and perform consistently in the event. India can play at least 3 more games in the tournament after this and for that, Surya needs to be at his best-ever version and best-ever form.
Harbhajan Singh points out the important factor for India
While speaking to Star Sports, Harbhajan Singh pointed out that the most important factor will be what India does after winning the toss. That's because the surface in Trinidad is pretty slow and favors slow bowlers more than the pacers. He went on to further add that Bangladesh won't be less of a threat, too, as they play in similar conditions back home.
"In the India-Bangladesh match, the most important thing will be what India does after winning the toss because this pitch is very slow and we have seen good spin in the wicket as well. But in the same time Bangladesh will weigh in their options and look to dominate India because these conditions will suit them as well due to similar pitches being in Bangladesh," Harbhajan said.
Harbhajan Singh lauds Suryakumar Yadav as a good spin bowler
While speaking to Star Sports recently, Harbhajan Singh applauded Suryakumar Yadav for being a very good batter of spin. Harbhajan named Suryakumar as the one to watch out for from the Indian team because of his spin-playing proficiency and his current form.
The 2007 T20 WC winner also pointed out that Suryakumar Yadav is a rare Indian batter who can score runs in the middle overs at a well-paced strike rate. And from the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh side, Harbhajan Singh named Towhid Hridoy as the one to watch out for because of his ability to score runs and be a clutch player of the team.
"For me, I will keep a close eye on Suryakumar Yadav since he plays spin bowling really well and knows how to score runs at a good strike rate in the middle overs. And second will be Bangladesh player Hridoy," Harbhajan Singh concluded.
