India and SunRisers Hyderabad seamer, T Natarajan, on Tuesday, successfully underwent surgery on his knee that had ruled him out of IPL 2021.

Natarajan took to his official social media accounts to post a picture of himself on the hospital bed. The left-arm pacer thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India and its support staff for their “attention and kindness”

“Today, I underwent knee surgery- and am grateful for the expertise, attention and kindness of the medical team, surgeons, doctors, nurses and staff. I’m grateful to @bcci and to all that have wished well for me,” T Natarajan has captioned the picture.

T Natarajan has been grappling with injuries since his successful debut in Australia across all three formats of the game.

The left-hander missed out on the first four T20Is of the recently concluded series against England due to shoulder injury.

He made a return for the series-decider before being subsequently benched in the first two One-day Internationals. He featured in the series-decider where he bowled a crucial final over against a rampaging Sam Curran to help India seal the deal.

Natarajan featured in a couple of games in IPL 2021 in which he claimed as many wickets before being rested and then subsequently outset from the season due to knee injury.

”He obviously has a sore knee. Given the circumstances in these bubbles, if he goes and gets a scan, he obviously has to sit out for seven days and get back into quarantine, so we are just monitoring at the moment. The physios are doing their best to analyze but he obviously has to have a scan at some point,” SunRisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner had said after his teams’ fourth match against Punjab Kings.
