Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg was very much impressed by Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav’s aggressive intent despite wickets falling early against Shaheen Afridi. India suffered their first loss against Pakistan in a world cup fixture, and Pakistan did outplay the men in blue in every department.

India had their openers sent off early with an outstanding spell from Shaheen Afridi, and the onus was on the skipper Virat Kohli to take India to a respectable total. Despite India getting to 151 in the end, the bowlers did not have much with the ball in the second innings, and Pakistan scripted history with a 10 wicket win over India.

“It Was Awesome Cricket To Watch” – Brad Hogg

Brad Hogg mentioned that the aggressive batting of Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav against Shaheen Afridi was awesome to watch and credited the Indian batters for taking the risk. India was in a spot of bother when the two batters looked to take on the bowling, and it impressed Brad Hogg.

“Virat Kohli played a wonderful shot straight past over the bowler’s head, that was just counter-attacking play and it was awesome cricket to watch. Even Suryakumar Yadav playing that pull shot off Shaheen Afridi was great. That is just courageous, aggressive cricket and if both of them had got out on those particular deliveries, everyone would have been screaming about it, but at some stage India had to take the risk,” Hogg told on his Youtube Channel.

“He Was Just On The Money From Ball One” – Brad Hogg

Brad Hogg heaped praises on Shaheen Afridi, who picked up three wickets and hailed the Pakistan pacers for not allowing the emotions to get better of them. He added that Shaheen was brilliant up front and credited him for picking up both the openers.

Shaheen Afridi was just too good. This was a worry for me. Shaheen Shan and Haris Rauf, two young fast bowlers, playing such a high-profile match, the emotions might get to them. He was just on the money from ball one. It was just sensational left-arm bowling upfront. His matchups against Rohit and Kohli were key heading into this match but getting Rahul out was unbelievable,” Hogg explained.
