I wouldn't be wanting to bowl to our boys - Pat Cummins
Speaking during the post-match presentation ceremony, SRH skipper Pat Cummins said that he wouldn't want to bowl to his batters and labeled their hitting as scary. Pat Cummins also lauded Ishan Kishan for his century and said that they have prepared well for the competition.
"I wouldn't be wanting to bowl to our boys. Unbelievable. That was scary. You know it's going to be tough (for the bowlers) but when you got such a big score, one over can win you," Pat Cummins stated.
"We have been able to keep the core of the side together. Ishan today was incredible. Just trying to play with freedom. The preparation has been amazing, our coaches have been amazing. The boys created a blueprint for how to play for the rest of the year," Pat Cummins added.
How Did SRH Perform in the Previous IPL Match Against RR?
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) delivered a clinical performance to defeat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 36 runs in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2024, sealing their spot in the final. Both the batting and bowling department of SRH did a good job in the match and outclassed the Royals.
Batting first, SRH posted 175/9 on the board, courtesy of a quickfire 37 runs off 15 balls from Rahul Tripathi and a composed 50 runs off 34 from Heinrich Klaasen. Travis Head also played a crucial role with a steady 34 runs off 28. Despite wickets falling at regular intervals, SRH’s ability to find boundaries at key moments kept them ahead.
Defending the total, SRH bowlers were on point. Shahbaz Ahmed (3/23) and Abhishek Sharma (2/24) choked RR in the middle overs, ensuring the Royals never gained momentum. Skipper Pat Cummins and T Natarajan also chipped in with crucial wickets, restricting RR to 139/7.
