The Greatest Of This Era Are Virat Kohli, Babar Azam Even Mohammad Rizwan Has Shown Great Improvement – Saeed Ajmal

Former Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal has said that the former Indian captain Virat Kohli, Pakistan all-format captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan as the greatest modern-day batters.

Babar is the No.1 ranked T20I & ODI batter and he recently climbed to the No.5 spot in ICC Test Rankings for batters. Rizwan is at the No.2 spot in the ICC T20I Rankings for batters and Kohli, who has been struggling a lot lately, is ranked No.2 in ODIs and No.9 Tests.

Meanwhile, former Pakistan spinner said that players like Kohli, Babar and Rizwan are very rare. He showered high praise on Rizwan and labelled him as the most improved cricketer in world cricket.

“Such players are very rare to grace an era. Such players are very rare. The greatest of this era are Virat Kohli, Babar Azam; even Mohammad Rizwan has shown such great improvement in the last year, year and a half. He is the most improved cricketer in world cricket. He has proven himself in every format.

“He has aggression and calmness at the same time. He has everything and has performed well. But having said that, what Babar has achieved in the last year is worth appreciating,” Ajmal told Cricket Pakistan.

While talking about world-class bowlers Ajmal lavished praise on the Australian finger spinner, Nathan Lyon. He added that Shaheen Afridi, Mitchell Starc and Jasprit Bumrah are world-class pacers and they have consistently delivered match-winning performances.

“If you talk about bowlers… among spinner, Nathan Lyon has delivered impressive performances over the last five years. Among pacers, players like Shaheen Afridi, Mitchell Starc and Jasprit Bumrah have given match-winning performances,” he pointed out.
