Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson was full of praise for his bowling attack after his team broke their losing streak by notching up a clinical six-wicket win against Kolkata Knight Riders.

The six-wicket win was set up by an all-round disciplined performance by the Rajasthan Royals bowling unit, led by all-rounder Chris Morris’ four-wicket haul in which he claimed the likes of Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik, and Pat Cummins.

Samson was full of praise for Morris for his brilliant spell at the death that eventually made the difference in the end.

”Our bowlers have been doing really well for the last 4-5 matches. There are many options for me to juggle around. Really enjoy captaining them. You could see in his eyes he wanted the competition. He wanted to get the big batsmen out,” said Sanju  Samson on Chris Morris in the post-match presentation.

Rajasthan Royals lost two wickets in the powerplay and even though they scored at a healthy rate in the first six overs, they needed the calm of Sanju Samson in the middle-0vers to ensure that they do not end up bottling the chase.

And, that is exactly what Sanju Samson did. The enigmatic batsman paced his innings beautifully by ensuring that amid some brilliant strokes, he paid equal importance to strike rotation. Samson eventually ended up with an unbeaten at 42 [off 41 balls].

And, Samson, who has been criticized for his inconsistency since the past few years, said that he has learnt from his previous experiences

”The situation of the match demands the way I play. That’s what I’ve learnt from previous years. Even if you bat and score a quick fifty you feel bad if the team doesn’t win,” he said.

Chetan Shakariya has been the find of IPL 2o21 thus far. The left-hander seamer impressed once again with his brilliant spell [1/31 in four overs] and also with his acrobatic catching. Samson hailed Shakariya as a ‘happy going and chilled out person’ and he is hoping that the young seamer will win many more games for Rajasthan Royals in the future.

”Sakariya is a very different kind of person. Very happy going, very chilled out. Same person inside and outside the ground. Hopefully he will win us more matches in the future. Need to chill down a bit. Have been playing continuous matches from last week. Will take a day off and plan for the next game,” Sanju Samson signed off.
