I Always Wanted To Raise The Bar Every Single Season – AB de Villiers

In an interview with The Times of India, veteran wicketkeeper-batsman AB de Villiers said that a player should analyze their performances and try to improve after every season to emerge as better player.

“You have to evolve as a player. All the time. If you stagnate, you will end up not enjoying the game, you will end up disappointing yourself and your teammates. There needs to be a constant checkup, reset every season – where my cricket is, what am I trying to achieve and how can I improve,” AB de Villiers said.

Great To See These Players Take The Game To The Next Level – AB de Villiers

The South African batsman praised Kane Williamson and Joe Root and said they took the game to the next level by putting more pressure on the bowlers with the new shots.

“It is great to see these players (Root, Williamson, etc) take the game to the next level, coming up with new shots, finding ways to put more pressure on the bowlers, and vice versa. Bowlers are finding (newer) ways to put pressure on batters.”
