Cricketer Vinod Kambli has been detained by the Bandra Police after being accused of hitting his wife Andrea while intoxicated in front of their two kids. The case has not yet resulted in any arrests.
As stated by the police, Andrea claimed in her testimony that Vinod Kambli became aggressive and violent while intoxicated at their home in the JWL Cooperative Housing Society in Bandra Reclamation.

The FIR was lodged after Andrea reached them late on Friday night, according to the Bandra Police. According to the police, Andrea said in her statement that Vinod Kambli became abusive and violent while intoxicated at their home in the JWL Cooperative Housing Society in Bandra Reclamation.
“The complainant claims that Vinod Kambli hurled a broken cooking pan handle at her, injuring her head. He also tried to attack her with a bat, but she was able to pull it from his grasp, and she instantly got both of her children and left the house “said a police officer from the Bandra police station.

“We have booked Vinod Kambli for voluntarily causing injuries”: Bandra Police
Andrea received treatment at the Bhabha Hospital in Bandra after that, and she then proceeded to the police station to provide a statement and turn in a copy of the medical record.
“We have booked Vinod Kambli for voluntarily causing injuries with a dangerous weapon and intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace under the Indian Penal Code,” said the officer.
Vinod Kambli, a former Indian batsman, amassed 1,084 runs in 17 Test matches with an average of 54.20. In 104 ODIs, Kambli scored 2,477 runs at a 32.59 average. Additionally, he amassed two double centuries in his brief Test career.
