TNPL 2022: N Jagadeesan Apologises For His Behaviour In The First Match Of The League
N Jagadeesan, a player for the Tamil Nadu and Chepauk Super Gillies, has apologised publicly for his “inexcusable” actions during the opening match of the TNPL 2022 on Thursday. The 26-year-old was enraged when bowler Baba Aparajith ran him out at the non-end strikers’ end for backing up excessively.
As he walked back to the dugout, Jagadeesan repeatedly flashed his middle finger in rage. Fans were not pleased with his conduct and criticised him for losing his cool despite being run out “within the boundaries of the game.”

N Jagadeesan apologised for his actions in a photo that he posted on Twitter after reflecting on the situation for a while. It begins with these words: “My deepest apologies to all of you for my inexcusable behaviour at yesterday’s match. Cricket has always been what I live for – and the sportsmanship that comes along with the sport is something I deeply respect. Which is why it is very hard for me to digest how I reacted.”

N Jagadeesan clarified that perhaps there was no defence for what he did because he recognised his error. But he also said that he probably did that in the heat of the moment because he cares so much about the game and supporting his team. He further wrote: “Passion is always key in any sport – but controlling it and channelising it the right way is more important. And that is something I failed at doing when I let my temper get the better of me. No excuses for what has been done, I will do better and be better. With Regret, Jagadeesan”
The Nellai Royal Kings defeated the Chepauk Super Gillies in the Super Over, resulting in a painful loss for the Chepauk Super Gillies.
