UAE Playing 11 vs Afghanistan- UAE T20I Tri Series 2025, Match 6:
Openers: Muhammad Zohaib, Muhammad Waseem
United Arab Emirates will look to give it their all when they step on the field of play to take on Afghanistan in the sixth match of the tri-series involving the two teams and Pakistan.
The Muhammad Waseem-led side has been impressive, especially with the ball in the tournament so far, and would like to continue doing so in the upcoming match.
Having said that, there are a couple of areas that the team would like to put on a much better effort as compared to what they did in the matches so far, and the areas are middle overs batting and bowling in the final five overs.
United Arab Emirates has started briskly in the first six overs in most of the matches but has failed to maintain the tempo as the innings have progressed, and would like to do that in the match against Afghanistan.
One of the reasons for it has been the lack of experience in the team's batting lineup in the ongoing series.
UAE's batting lineup is heavily dependent on its captain Muhammad Waseem, and he has been unable to convert starts into big scores, which has resulted in the team's poor show with the bat.
Having said that, the opener has a fifty to his name in the tournament but hasn't found the required support from the other and would hope the case is a bit different in the next match.
Waseem's opening partner, Muhammad Zohaib, hasn't been in great form either and would like to get some runs under his belt.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Rahul Chopra (wk), Ethan DSouza, Harshit Kaushik, Dhruv Parashar, Saghir Khan
The openers will be followed by a middle order that has shown a little spark in either of the matches and will look to get the team over the line if the United Arab Emirates end up batting second against Afghanistan.
The likes of Rahul Chopra, along with Ethan D’Souza, Saghir Khan, and Dhruv Parasha, have shown that they can win the match on their own, and it's a matter of just one good inning.
The home side would want its middle order to come good against a strong Afghan bowling lineup.
Regardless of the depth in the UAE's batting lineup, the top five batters will have to do the bulk of the scoring for the team for them to increase their chances of winning the game.
Bowlers: Haider Ali, Muhammad Rohid Khan, Junaid Siddique
As far as the United Arab Emirates' bowling lineup is concerned, it has done a decent job, especially with the new ball in the first six overs.
However, despite them picking wickets with the new ball, the UAE bowlers haven't been able to restrict the opposition batters to post an above-par total.
The reason for that is the lack of wickets in the final five overs, which has resulted in them ending up on the losing side.
The team management would want the likes of Haider Ali, Muhammad Rohid Khan, and Junaid Siddique to do so in the next match.
