India National Cricket Team are all set to take on Bangladesh National Cricket Team in the two-match Test series later this month. Both games will be part of the ICC World Test Championship and will be crucial for both the teams in context of reaching the final.

The Test series between India and Bangladesh will begin on 19th September. First match of the series between the teams will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and after that second game will be played from 27th September in Kanpur.

Both teams will be facing for the first time in Tests since December 2022. The last team the two teams played each other in the Test series, it saw India National Cricket Team winning the series in Bangladesh, which was a hard-fought series for them.

Rohit Sharma-led side are on the top of the World Test Championship points table as they have been sensational in the ongoing cycle. In the last series against England, the Rohit Sharma-led side were dominant as they won the series by the margin of 4-1 and played a brilliant brand of cricket.

Bangladesh on the other hand would have super high confidence, especially after what they did in Pakistan. The Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side whitewashed the hosts in the two-match series and would be keen to achieve something similar in the India Tests.

With the IND vs BAN Test series a few days away, the umpires for the two games have been revealed. As per the reports in the Times of India, it is learned that Rod Tucker and Richard Kettleborough will officiate in the first Test in Chennai. Meanwhile, in the second Test between the teams which be played in Kanpur, Richard Kettleborough along with Chris Brown will be on-field umpires.

The Indian squad for the Bangladesh series is expected to be announced soon. It is likely that Rohit Sharma will be leading the team while Jasprit Bumrah will be his vice-captain. The squad is unlikely to see any major changes and players who played last series will be backed.

There were reports which claimed that Rishabh Pant will be making his comeback into the team. This will be the first time he will be playing the longest format of the game since December 2022. After that, he faced an accident and then was out of action for a while.

Jasprit Bumrah is expected to be the frontline pacer with Mohammed Siraj. While there were reports which claimed that there would be a tussle between Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep for the third pacer in the team for the two-match Test series. The two games against the Bangladesh team will mark the beginning of the Test season for the team.

After the Bangladesh series, the team will be locking horns with New Zealand in the three-match series. Also, after that, they will be traveling to Australia for the five-match Test series.
