Steven Taylor, on Thursday (June 6), took one of the catches of the tournament to send back Mohammad Rizwan in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 clash between USA and Pakistan at the Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas.
USA captain Monank Patel won the toss and opted to bowl first and it did not take him long to get the reward for his decision. Mohammad Rizwan started the proceedings on a good note as he opened his account by hitting Nosthush Kenjige for a six in the very first over.
However, he could not last long as Saurabh Netravalkar sent him back in the second over. The credit for the dismissal should go to Steven Taylor as well for taking an absolute blinder at first slip. It was a good length delivery from the left-arm pacer and the delivery swung away at the last moment.
Rizwan ended up edging the ball towards the first slip. The ball was dying on the slip fielder and it looked like Rizwan would get a reprieve. However, Taylor came up with an absolute blinder and caught the ball just inches above ground while diving towards his right to give his team a huge breakthrough.

Talking about the game, Pakistan were reeling at 26 for 3 in the fifth over at the time of writing this report. After Rizwan's departure. Nosthush Kenjige dismissed Usman Khan for just 3 before Ali Khan dismissed the dangerous Fakhar Zaman for 11 to put the USA in the driver's seat.
The momentum is with the USA and they will be looking to make the most of it. The co-hosts started their campaign with a thumping win over Canada last week and will be looking to register their second win in a row to bolster their chances of progressing ahead of the group stage.
