Usman Qadir ditches Pakistan Cricket, sets sights on becoming Australian cricketer

Pakistan National Cricket Team leg-spinner Usman Qadir, who recently announced his retirement from Pakistan Cricket, has planned to move to Australia. As per the reports in Pakistan media, it is learned that he has taken the step for a better future.
Son of Pakistan great Abdul Qadir, Usman announced his retirement from Pakistan cricket in October last year out of frustration. This was because he didn't get the opportunity for the Pakistan National Cricket Team and also wasn't allowed to play in the other leagues.

Qadir represented Pakistan National Cricket Team in one ODIs and 25 T20Is. His last outing for the Mohammad Rizwan-led side came against South Africa at Centurion in which he took one wicket before he announced his retirement from the Pakistan Cricket.
Ever since moving to Australia, Usman has played in South Australia. He also has played for Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League apart from representing Australia’s Prime Minister’s XI. As per the reports, the main reason behind his move is to play cricket in Australia.
Usman Qadir soon will be moving his family to Australia as well. Earlier, he planned to move back to Pakistan from Australia under the wish of his late father, Abdul Qadir. The leg-spinner has settled there and is now in New South Wales, playing for the Hawkesbury Club in Sydney.

Usman Qadir, while talking about his move to Australia, said that cricket is his livelihood and has shifted to Australia for his future. He said that he wants to carry forward the legacy of his father and is hopeful of getting good opportunities. He said:
“Cricket is my livelihood, I have come to Australia with a plan for my future. I am hopeful and determined that I will get good opportunities in cricket only. As I step into this new chapter, I will be continuing my dad's legacy, embracing both my love for cricket and the lessons he instilled in me,”

Usman Qadir would be keen to explore more opportunities in Australia, and if he gets citizenship there, it is expected that he will be available for selection for the Australia National Cricket Team. It remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
Overall in his career, Qadir has played 13 FC games, picking 31 wickets at an average of around 18. He also has played 49 List A games, picking 48 wickets to go with three five-wicket hauls. In 107 T20s, he picked 112 wickets at an economy of around 7.
