The match officials have reportedly recommended disciplinary action against multiple players involved in the ugly on-field drama during the controversial India A vs Sri Lanka A match in Dambulla. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Vishen Halambage, and Tilak Varma have all been punished after their heated exchange in Dambulla.

The drama unfolded after the fourth match of the ongoing one-day tri-series. Things went out of control after the Super Over when players from both sides got involved in heated arguments. Recently, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's India exit demanded by ex-cricketer after ugly on-field fight.

As reported by Revsportz, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Vishen Halambage have been recommended a 50 percent match fee fine each for their physical and heated verbal exchange after Sri Lanka A won the Super Over against India A in Dambulla.

India A captain Tilak Varma has been recommended a 30 percent fine, while Sri Lanka A wicketkeeper-batter Niroshan Dickwella is facing a 20 percent penalty. While Tilak was punished for having a heated and animated argument with the umpire, Dickwella was fined for excessive appealing behind the stumps during the thrilling match.

It is being said that Tilak was so angry while talking to the match officials. The match referee Pradeep Jeyapragash took these decisions based on reports from the on-field umpires. There was no formal hearing, but the incident was reviewed and action was suggested based on what happened during and after the match.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi lost cool after continuous sledging

The situation became serious after Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was seen arguing with Sri Lankan players after the match. At one point, the situation also turned physical, with reports of a push during the heated exchange, which made the matter even worse.

Reports also suggest that the Sri Lankan players were sledging Vaibhav and other India A cricketers, especially targeting their IPL performances. This constant verbal slur triggered the Indian players.

One of the remarks made during the ongoing one-day tri-series reportedly told Vaibhav, 'Go home, this is not the IPL,' which angered Sooryavanshi.

SLC acts swiftly, but BCCI takes no action on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

Some reports say that the BCCI has decided not to impose any direct fine on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Since this is an A-team series and not senior international cricket, punishment decisions depend on individual cricket boards rather than the International Cricket Council (ICC) rules.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has already accepted the match referee’s recommendation and imposed a 50 per cent fine on Vishen Halambage. Niroshan Dickwella has also been fined 20 percent for excessive appealing during the match. However, there is still no clarity on the BCCI’s move.

India A storm into Tri-Series Final after 101-run win over Afghanistan A

Meanwhile, India A defeated Afghanistan A by 101 runs in Dambulla on Wednesday and booked their place in the one-day tri-series final. Batting first, India A scored a strong 319/9 in 50 overs, thanks to brilliant fifties from Tilak Varma, Priyansh Arya, and Kumar Kushagra.

Chasing the target, Afghanistan We were bowled out for 218 in 36.5 overs. Nishant Sindhu starred with four wickets, while Yash Thakur took two. Anshul Kamboj, Anukul Roy, Vipraj Nigam, and Suryansh Shedge took one wicket each. With this win, India A moved ahead of Sri Lanka A on net run rate and secured the final spot.
