Young cricket prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi is considering a move to play for another state after being snubbed by the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA). Vaibhav Suryavanshi has not been included in the Bihar squad for the first two matches against Haryana and Bengal in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25.

The Bihar Cricket Association recently announced a 20-man squad for the Ranji Trophy starting on October 11. Suryavanshi was not included in the squad for the domestic tournament. Notably, last year he made his first-class debut at age 12, surpassing legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh.

Vaibhav recently scripted history by becoming the youngest Indian batter to score a century in Under-19 cricket. The left-handed batter reached the hundred off just 58 deliveries against Australia Under-19 in Chennai. He scored 104 runs off 62 balls during the first Youth Test between the two teams.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Will Join The Team Kolkata - The BCA president

Vaibhav Suryavanshi is currently in Chennai but has been asked by the Bihar Cricket Association to join the team before their second Ranji Trophy match against Bengal in Kalyani on October 18. The batter wasn't selected for the first match as the Youth Test between India and Australia ended a day early.

“The Youth Test match between India and Australia ended a day early and that’s why we didn’t pick him for the match in Lahli. It would have been a big hassle for him to travel all the way from Chennai to Rohtak. But he will join the team in Kolkata for the second match,” BCA president Rakesh Tiwary told The Indian Express.

We Didn’t Want To Put Unwanted Pressure - The BCA president

The Bihar Cricket Association president said that they didn't pick Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the squad for the first Test match to avoid putting unnecessary pressure on the young player. The BCA president said, “We didn’t want to put unwanted pressure on the kid.”

Bihar Is Not Ideal For Good Cricketers - Manoj Ojha

The Indian Express reported that top clubs in the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) first-division league have shown interest in acquiring the talented player, prompting him to explore his options to pursue opportunities.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi's coach believes that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stopped caring about cricketers from Bihar. Manoj Ojha said that it would be best for Vaibhav to leave Bihar and join another state.

“Bihar is not ideal for good cricketers. No one cares. The BCCI has stopped caring about it as well. It is getting difficult with every passing day. As a coach, I would want him to leave Bihar immediately to play for another state,” said Vaibhav’s coach Manoj Ojha.

"I want top Ranji teams to give him an offer and he must take it. He should play for a state where he can be groomed, where he would be looked after. VVS Laxman rates him very highly and monitors his development,” he added.
