The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to reward Varun Chakravarthy, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Abhishek Sharma for their consistent performances in international cricket in the last few months.
All the above-mentioned players are set to receive their maiden central contracts by the BCCI. Varun Chakravarthy has emerged as a key part of India's bowling line-up and recently played a big role in India's Champions Trophy 2025 win in Dubai.
Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy has played both Tests and T20Is and excelled in both formats. He is also seen as a potential ODI cricketer in the future. Abhishek Sharma has also established his place as an opener in India's T20I team after his batting exploits.
According to TOI, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia will meet the head coach Gautam Gambhir, and chief selector Ajit Agarkar in Guwahati on March 29 to discuss about the central contracts. The city will host an IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings on March 30, a day after the meeting.

Varun Chakravarthy's rise continues
Varun Chakravarthy was expected to be on this list and his addition won't be a big surprise. The mystery spinner has enjoyed a stellar run in international cricket in both T20Is and ODIs recently.
He made a comeback into India's T20I team after the T20 World Cup last year and immediately made an impact. Varun Chakravarthy soon emerged as the team's first-choice spinner in the shortest format of the game.
Not only the T20Is, Varun Chakravarthy also played a vital role in India's Champions Trophy win recently. He didn't make it to the initial Playing XI but made an impact as soon as he got the chance. He picked up 9 wickets in just three matches at an average of 15.11 and an economy rate of 4.53.
Varun Chakravarthy emerged as the tournament's second-highest wicket-taker and India's joint-highest. His stellar performances have been noticed by the BCCI and he is set to receive his maiden central contract.
Nitish Kumar Reddy set to be rewarded by board
Youngster Nitish Kumar Reddy is also set to receive his first-ever central contract by the BCCI. The allrounder has enjoyed a stellar run in both the Test and the T20I format. He played all five Tests in Australia and was one of India's shining lights in a rather disappointing campaign.
He scored 298 runs at an average of 37.25 and struck a hundred at the iconic MCG. Reddy also picked up 5 wickets with the ball. Reddy has also played four T20Is in which he has scored 90 runs and picked up 3 wickets.
The 21-year-old is seen as the next big thing in Indian cricket. He can be extremely useful given his abilities as a pace-bowling allrounder. Reddy is also seen as the successor to Hardik Pandya in the future.
Abhishek Sharma to receive maiden BCCI contract
Young opener Abhishek Sharma is also in line to bag his maiden central contract from the BCCI. Abhishek is seen as one of the most destructive openers in the shortest format in the world and he has started to prove it at the international level.
He got a chance in international cricket after his exploits in IPL 2024 where he smashed the bowlers with utter disdain. Abhishek has played 17 T20Is so far and scored 535 runs at a blistering strike rate of 193.84.
His ability to make full use of field restrictions in the powerplay makes him a dangerous player for any opposition. The left-hander can also bowl some crucial left-arm spin which makes him a useful asset for the shortest format.
