"Very strong message..." - Harsha Bhogle's sharp take on Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer's contract snub

The BCCI has taken extreme steps against Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer after both of them were removed from the central contracts after not complying with the BCCI???s notification asking the players to play domestic cricket. Neither Ishan Kishan nor Shreyas Iyer participated in the ongoing Ranji Trophy even after a notable reminder from the BCCI for the players not playing international cricket. Instead, Ishan Kishan chose to play in the DY Patil tournament.
Cricket expert and commentator Harsha Bhogale has voiced his opinion on the decision and has said that the BCCI has sent a very strong message to the players. He said that players who have the ambition and hunger to play red-ball cricket for India should go back and play domestic cricket. Bhogale also advised white-ball players to play in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy for the state that nurtured the players through age groups.

It is entirely possible that red ball cricket isn???t where you see your future or your joy. And that you want to be a purely white ball player; In which case, you must make it clear and play Mushtaq Ali and Vijay Hazare for the state that nurtured you through age-group cricket. ??? tweeted Harsha Bhogale.
He was also optimistic about Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer finding their way back to the Indian team by performing and scoring a lot of runs in domestic cricket.
???Both Shreyas and Ishan are very gifted players and I expect them to score a lot of runs and fight their way back into the national team. That is how bigger cricketers have done it, whether Ganguly or Laxman or Jadeja or Kumble. It won???t surprise me if Chahal forces his way into contention either.???

Ishan Kishan will be representing Mumbai Indians in the upcoming IPL 2024 whereas Shreyas Iyer will be leading the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. He is also expected to feature in the semi-final of the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season between Mumbai and Tamil Nadu. Shreyas Iyer was a part of the ongoing Test series against England but was dropped from the squad after terrible performance in the first two Tests where he got an opportunity.
The BCCI also introduced fast-bowling contracts for fast bowlers who are in line to play for India or who have played for India. The five fast bowlers included in this one-of-a-kind contract are Akash Deep, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Yash Dayal, Umran Malik, and Vidwath Kaverappa.
