Vidarbha Spinner Akshay Karnewar Takes Hat-Trick Against Sikkim A Day After Conceding No Run Against Manipur

Vidarbha spinner Akshay Karnewar picked a hat-trick against Sikkim in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at the ACA stadium in Mangalagiri.
Karnewar’s hat-trick comes a day after he bowled one of the unbelievable spells of all time.
He did not concede a single run against Manipur after completing his four overs of quota and returned with a couple of wickets.

In the match against Sikkim, the ambidextrous spinner cleaned the stumps of Sikkim opener Codanda Ajit Karthik and caught skipper Kranthi Kumar the very next ball to make back to back dismissals in the eighth over.
The 29-year-old returned in the 10th over to dismiss Ashsish Thapa on the first ball to complete his hat-trick.
Karnewar ended his majestic spell with four wickets for five runs in four overs at an economy rate of 1.2.

The Wagholi-born bowler said it was something extraordinary for him to not concede a single run against Manipur.
“It’s unbelievable. Not conceding even a single run in the entire match is something extraordinary and I am really feeling good,” Karnewar told Times of India.
Karnewar has picked 10 wickets from five matches in the tournament so far as Vidarbha made five out of five wins in Group Plate after securing a 130-run victory over Sikkim.
Karnewar has played 44 T20s so far and claimed 43 wickets out of them at an average of 20 and an economy rate of 6.20.
