Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant named in Delhi squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy

The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has announced a 50-member probables list for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy. According to the official statement, senior batter Virat Kohli and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant could join the team after completing their commitments with the India cricket team.
Virat Kohli is set to make a return for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. This will be his first List A match for the state since the 2009-10 season. Delhi is placed in Group D of the tournament, which begins on December 24. They will compete with Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Services, Railways, Haryana, and Gujarat.
DDCA Announces 50-Member Probables List for the Vijay Hazare Trophy
The Delhi selectors met on 10 December 2025 to finalize the probables for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy. The selection panel, coaching staff, and DDCA officials attended the meeting, which resulted in the approval of the squad shortlist for the 2025-26 domestic one-day season.
The selectors have finalised the list of probables for the Delhi Senior Men’s Team for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy (Domestic Season 2025–26)," the statement read.

Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant Set to Join Delhi for the Vijay Hazare Trophy
The DDCA confirmed that the Vijay Hazare Trophy probables group features players from the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy squad. They also announced that Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant will strengthen the side.
"The list of probables includes the players selected for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy squad. Additionally, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant will be joining the team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy," the statement added.
Kohli last featured in the Vijay Hazare Trophy during the 2009–10 season. He hasn’t played a 50-over match for Delhi since 2013. During his early stint in the tournament, he scored 819 runs in 13 games at an impressive average of 68.25, including four centuries.
Delhi will play matches against Andhra Pradesh (December 24), Gujarat (December 26), Saurashtra (December 29), Odisha (December 31), Services (January 3), Railways (January 6) and Haryana (January 8) in the group stage.
The team hopes Kohli’s presence can spark the revival they badly need after recent struggles in the Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
