Virat Kohli As A Batsman Is More Complete As Compared To The Other Members Of 'Fab Four' - Aakash Chopra

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra reckoned that the skipper, Virat Kohli, is a far better all-format player than any of the other members of the fables ‘Fab-Four’. Chopra feels that Kohli is much more complete as a batsman when compared to Kane Williamson or Steve Smith.

Kohli was termed as the ICC Cricketer of the Decade (2010-2019) for his stunning performances and exploits in all three formats. While Smith, Williamson, and Joe Root are generally known for their excellence in the longest format, Kohli has developed himself into a run machine in all formats.

Virat Kohli is an all-format player. I feel Root can also be that. Kohli as a batsman is more complete as compared to say a Kane Williamson and Steve Smith. No disrespect, but Kohli’s class is different.

The class is that you run your wagon at a speed of 15, 45, or 145. He is that kind of a player, one of its kind. Kohli is the best all-format batsman in the world, there is no doubt about it,” Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.

Virat Kohli can actually switch gears quite nicely – Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra went on to mention that the four aforementioned batsmen take their time initially before launching, but Kohli does it much better compared to the other three. Although he struggles in the middle overs of an ODI or a T20I, Kohli ups the ante when it matters in the death overs.

I don’t see Steve Smith running that fast, it depends on which number you bat. You have to bat in the top three to be a king of T20s. Kohli does that and he has all the strokes, a few more strokes. If you see Kane, he takes time. Virat can actually switch gears quite nicely, even in one day cricket Virat Kohli is way above Kane Williamson and Steve Smith,” Chopra said.

Kohli will be seen leading India in tonight’s match against New Zealand in the Super 12 stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup.
